sharing (Italian) food to enjoy life

The log cabin

Posted by Jim Carfrae on December 4, 2009

I think this is the most elegant presentation of the basic prosciutto and breadstick, great for the holiday season.  Gerardo, who is studying to be a chef at Humber College, invented this.  Well, he was the first person I ever saw “build” it, thank you.

To enjoy the most:

  • Prosciutto at room temperature
  • Half a slice per breadstick
  • Use the good, thin Italian breadsticks
  • Share with family and friends

We want more – and keep checking for a new update! Whilst whipping thru a local recipe magazine found this: “Discover and Share Italian: drape prosciutto over sliced cantaloupe for a salty, sweet appetizer. Serve and enjoy.” Wish I could send the accompanying photo – it’s a hoot – either the prosciutto (whole slice) would be hanging out of your mouth or the cantaloupe piece is so big you’d be choking – not too cool!
Love your photos & recipes and dialogue – it all looks so elegant –
and will look forward to some great ideas for goodies on the patio, deck, balcony, etc. I’m forwarding to all my friends! (all 2 of them!. . . only kidding).
